Travel seasons in Nepal

Before planning to trek in Nepal, make sure you are aware of climatic condition of Nepal. You might want to consider checking different seasons in Nepal which occurs in different time period throughout the year. Different season offers different weather conditions and temperature which hugely affects the trekking experience. Therefore, it is essential to be aware of all the seasons and decide an appropriate time for trekking in Nepal. Generally, there are 4 seasons in Nepal. They are

1: Autumn Season (Sept - Nov)

2: Winter season (Dec - Feb)

3: Summer season (Mar - May)

4: Spring season (Jun - Aug)

AUTUMN SEASON: (September - November)

Autumn season occurs during September to November. This season is generally considered the best for trekking in Nepal because of perfect weather condition and ideal temperature. As the hot sunny summer ends and the winter will just begin the climate is lovely. The day is clear as the sky is bright and visible as you can clearly view the beauty of glorious Himalayan range.

WINTER SEASON: (December - February)

Winter occurs during December to February. the mornings and evenings are usually cold and foggy, but afternoons are usually clear and warm when the sun is out. Snow fall especially occurs in higher elevation and it gets more colder and the temperature decreases gradually that’s why it’s ideal to trek and hike in lower elevation. If you can’t stand cold weather, then trekking in winter isn’t for you.

SUMMER SEASON: (March - May)

Summer season in Nepal brings rainfall which usually begins from June till august this season is terrible and unfavorable for trekking in Nepal. The rainfall makes trekkers difficult to have a quality adventure as the trails are wet, muddy and dirty. You probably want to have your quality time inside your house drinking coffee, watching the rain dripping over the window. But that doesn't mean you cannot trek in monsoon time. During monsoon season Upper Mustang Trek is the most popular one. It is in the rain shadowed area of Nepal and wont rain typically.

SPRING SEASON: (June - August)

Spring is probably the best season after autumn for trekking in the beautiful and glorious Himalayan range. The temperature is typically cool and windy. Walking through the trails and gazing all the precious and beautiful flowers blooming makes your trekking adventure cheerful. On the top of that catching the sight of gorgeous view of the Himalayas will makes your heart melt.

Conclusion

I assume you might have already decided the right time to trek or hike in Nepal. Truth is every season offers different trekking experience. It doesn’t matter what the climate and weather is, the beautiful and glorious Himalayas always stands still through every climatic condition. However, you should always plan before making any decisions on trekking adventure. Just make sure that you have everything you need according to the climate and weather.
