Mardi Himal Trek is the only trek so close to Pokhara which will take you for the closest interactions with the Himalayas that you have been always admiring. Walking most of the time on the forested and alpine ridge that stands in between the massive, Annapurna and a beautiful Pokhara valley is incomparably beautiful and adventurous.
The classic way to reach there for Nepalese is to drive till siding and make a straight climb up to low or high camp, but due to safety reason, we recommend you to take another route, where you have to drive for about 45 min till Kande and start your journey comfortably sensible way.

You will just find it wonderful driving to Pokhara on a day that’s crystal clear. Beautiful view of rice paddy and farmlands on the way........ once you began to see the Himalayas bigger and closer…you are entering the Pokhara valley…The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling on the north side are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole connection of memorable experiences that stay with you for a really long time.
Drive for about 40 min to a place called Kande, the trail has a fair bit of climb to warm you up and is beautifully forested, passes through villages called Australian camp and pothana that leads you to deurali literally means a small pass, is located on a small ridge hidden inside the forest.
The trail today is a combination of good ups and downs, mostly ups through the dense forest of rhododendron, 1 or 2 small tea houses can be seen. Forest can be entertaining with its beautifully shaped trees and branches. fortunately, the views of the mountains and valley get better sometimes when the forest opens up. The low camp is a small settlement of 4 lodges that offers a great view of fishtail mountain.
The trail is mostly uphill through dense rhododendron forest, the vegetation changes to alpine style after Badal danda. Throughout the trail, the magnificent view of the entire Annapurna, fishtail ranges and the southern valley cherish your hearts. High camp is the last place with lodges right on the ridge and offers the possibility to see the 2 deep valleys within a few meters.
We hike early in the morning to enjoy the light taking away the darkness, one of our guide’s favorite ways, the trail is steep but every victor of the steep climb is rewarded by mind-blowing views of the massive white Himalayas. It might take 4-5 hrs to reach base camp but walking down is fun and of with great hope of relaxation.
Today you might be tired as the trail is completely downhill, however walking with an open mind can help you, appreciate a great sense of change in the natural vegetation from alpine to subtropical. The most beautiful part could be lush mossy forests. Siding is a small village of mixed ethnic groups, where the major occupation is farming.
Half of the drive is off-road that’s carved in between the farmlands making many turnings and a great view of the down valley. Once you reach the valley the road gets much easier but still a great view of the river that you drive through. In total it will take you 3 hrs to reach Pokhara. Chill the rest of your afternoon and evening.
